Strengthening Commitment to Sustainable Supply Chain Practices
A snapshot of part of Green COP's ISCC EU certification, highlighting our commitment to sustainability and traceability in biofuel production.
SINGAPORE, SEPTEMBER 24, 2024 – Green COP, a pioneering technology enabler in the production of bio-butanol from plant-based waste, is proud to announce that it has successfully obtained the ISCC EU certification. This milestone underscores Green COP’s dedication to sustainability, traceability, and adherence to the international standards for responsible supply chain management.
The ISCC (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification) EU certification is a globally recognized benchmark for sustainable, deforestation-free, and traceable supply chains. Recognized by the European Commission (EC), this certification demonstrates compliance with the sustainability and greenhouse gas emission savings criteria of the renewed Renewable Energy Directive (RED II). By achieving this certification, Green COP reaffirms its commitment to transparent and sustainable sourcing and processing practices across its operations.
“Securing the ISCC EU certification marks a key achievement for Green COP and reaffirms our dedication to sustainability and responsible supply chain practices,” said Dr. Hanson Lee, CEO of Green COP. “This certification strengthens our ability to provide a reliable and sustainable supply chain that meets global standards, ensuring transparency and accountability from sourcing through to processing.”
Green COP’s technology enables the conversion of agricultural waste into bio-butanol through a proprietary pretreatment and fermentation process. This innovation addresses pressing challenges such as waste reduction, carbon emissions, and dependence on non-renewable energy. The ISCC EU certification enhances Green COP’s credibility, further cementing its commitment to a circular economy and sustainable development.
This certification opens up new opportunities for Green COP’s partnerships and collaborations, particularly within markets focused on sustainability and decarbonization. By meeting ISCC’s sustainability criteria, Green COP continues to position itself as a leader in environmental responsibility and biofuel innovation.
