SINGAPORE / JIAXING, CHINA, SEPTEMBER 28, 2026 – Green COP, a technology enabler converting agricultural waste into biobutanol, announced that its Founder and CEO, Dr. Hanson Lee, has been awarded Tier B under the 2025 Starlit South Lake · Jiaxing Leading Talent Program Incubation and Transplantation Competition (“星耀南湖”领军人才计划孵化移植项目). The program is jointly hosted by the Office of the Talent Work Leading Group of the CPC Jiaxing Municipal Committee and the Human Resources and Social Security Bureau of Jiaxing Municipality, and organized by the Yangtze Delta Region Institute of Tsinghua University, Zhejiang (YIT).
Green COP was recognised for its project, "Green Factory for Non-Food Biomass Liquid Fuels" (非粮生物质液体燃料绿色工厂), which showcases the company's proprietary technology for converting plant-based agricultural waste into sustainable fuels. As a Tier B awardee, Green COP is eligible for up to RMB 5 million in project funding, subject to program implementation requirements. The recognition reflects the commercial potential of Green COP's technology and supports the company's long-term growth strategy in China.
Building on this achievement, Green COP has incorporated Jiaxing Luyuan Biotechnology Co., Ltd. (嘉兴渌源生物科技有限公司), a joint venture with YIT based in Dushan Port, Pinghu, Jiaxing, Zhejiang Province. Serving as Green COP's operational hub in China, the new company will drive business development, forge strategic partnerships, and support the commercial deployment of technology for converting agricultural waste into biobutanol, enabling the production of sustainable fuels and green chemicals that contribute to industrial decarbonisation and the circular economy.
"We are honoured to receive this Tier B recognition under the Starlit South Lake Talent Program. It is a strong affirmation of Green COP's innovation and the commercial potential of our technology. We are grateful for the opportunity to become part of Jiaxing's innovation ecosystem, and we look forward to working closely with YIT and our local partners to advance the commercialization of agri-waste-to-biobutanol solutions and contribute to China's green development goals," said Hanson Lee, Founder and CEO of Green COP.
The incorporation of the joint venture reflects Green COP's long-term commitment to China and provides a strong foundation for future collaborations in technology development, project deployment, and commercial partnerships. The company will continue to work with industry, research institutions, and government stakeholders to accelerate the adoption of their solutions across the region.
