Our story

Founded on a simple bet: waste is a feedstock, not a problem.

Green COP began in 2021, when our co-founders set out to unlock value from biowaste that would otherwise go to landfill or incineration. What started as a deep-tech research effort has grown into a commercial pathway for sustainable marine fuel — built around patented pre-treatment and fermentation technology developed in Singapore.

In March 2024 we expanded beyond Singapore, establishing Green COP Malaysia Sdn Bhd as a wholly-owned subsidiary to support feedstock sourcing and pilot-scale production. As a member of the Coastal Sustainability Alliance, we're working alongside Singapore's port and logistics ecosystem to help conventional harbour craft cut emissions without overhauling existing infrastructure.

Our team was selected as Breakthrough Energy Fellows, joining a global network backing the deep-tech ventures working hardest on the path to net zero.
